Faux Fireplace Mantel

No fireplace? No problem! In a few easy steps I will have you welcoming the jolly guy with the red suit into your home this holiday season. Here is a quick and easy way to create a Faux Fireplace Mantel.

Here is what you will need:

1 – 2′ x 4′ Chalkboard Panel

1 – 1″ x 6″ Common Board or pre-primed board cut to 5′

1 – 1″ x 3″ Common Board or pre-primed board cut to 5′

5 – Hooks

White Vinyl

Flame and Log Graphics

Fresh or Faux Garland

Using a vinyl cutting machine, upload the images into the program and cut.

Separate the cut images and apply transfer tape.

Lay out the vinyl images onto the chalkboard panel and apply.

To create the shelf…attach the 1″ x 3″ to the 1″ x 6″ using wood glue and brad nails. Then, attach the hooks onto the face of the shelf. I used d-rings on the back of the shelf to hang it on the wall. To attach the chalkboard panel to the wall, I used Command Velcro strips.

To hang the garland, I uses command hooks and started decorating it!

Here is the final project! It is so cute and festive! Santa may even mistake it for the real deal! If you recreate this project, make sure to snap a pic and share on Instagram!!
